You can laugh... I don't care


You see, the stuff I do everyday to help me as I age works for me and that’s all that counts.


Coz I got to that point. The point where I finally said, "I need to change my life!"


When I let people know what I do, I often get raised eyebrows, a bit of disbelief and very often, wow! I could never do that!


Thing is, I used to think the same way.


I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be getting up at 5am everyday to exercise and meditate - to do what I call my me time


And yet I do!


Is it easy? No!!!



I’ve been doing it for a loooong time now, think 17 years! And I still have to talk myself into it and focus on the end result.


Coz it doesn’t matter how disciplined you are, a warm cozy bed has a very loud voice!! Particularly at 5am on a winters morning


It’s the same with my diet.


I never in my widest dreams thought I would ever quit sugar or carbs.


I looooooved my chocolate way too much and enjoyed eating good food, that was generally healthy, but unbeknown to me, contained sugar and carbs that made my body react rather negatively.


And it just seemed to get worse as I got older. Hello menopause!


Yet, when I decided to change my choices, what I thought would be a 6-8 week health kick, became a lifestyle choice.

That’s how well my body responded!


And it meant cutting out my beloved creamy milk chocolate. Which I had been enjoying all my life!


Coz some choices are just not good for us and are worth changing for long term results.


I even changed how I exercise.


I used to run for an hour, 3 times a week and do a HIIT weight work out 3 times a week. For about 17 years!

Coz exercise is my anti-depressant and stress reliever.


I have a long history of depression in my family and exercise is THE best way to over come it.

So, when I changed my diet, I changed how I exercise too.


I know I need to exercise. I feel better mentally and physically when I do. It helps to relieve any stress and I have way more energy and mental clarity.


So as much as my warm cozy bed chatters to me about staying in it, I try not to listen


However, rather than run, I now do power walks 3-4 times a week and do Pilates 5 times a week.


Was I nervous about the change?


Yes!! I was worried I would put on weight by not doing intense exercise. After all, that’s what my body was used to.


Thing is, my body has never been happier, leaner or stronger.


I no longer have sore hips or knees from running, which can be the unfortunate downside to running as you get older.


Do I ever have a lie in? Yes of course!


I listen to my body and if I’m feeling tired, I give myself the rest I need and rather do some gentle yoga and a walk. I just don’t make it a habit.


Coz lie-ins are for the weekends. And my cozy bed knows that! Even though it tries to tempt me!


There are other things I do too, like having amazing, natural skincare products and a great skincare routine. Taking natural supplements that support my body, etc.


Thing is, I know what I am doing for me is working. The proof is all around me. And because of that, I stick with it.


I want to age young.


I want to feel healthy, energetic and happy.


And in order to do that, I need to help support myself as much as I can. Now!


Not just when I’m older. Coz how we treat ourselves now, will show as we age...


And so that means doing things that are different to the “norm”.


And yes, it means being disciplined.


And all this... starts with me!


With what I say to myself and how I speak to myself.


It’s all a head game. And it starts when you get to that point where you KNOW you need to change your life.

Coz THAT will ultimately start or stop your results.
